Coming to qathet! Rainforest Circus: Submerged

It’s a walk in the woods you’ll never forget!

The Rainforest Circus is just that: a circus that takes place in a forest! It includes aerialists in the trees, original music and soundscape, clown, dance, spoken word and artistic installations throughout– all inspired by the theme of “Submerged”. This production toured the Lower Sunshine Coast and Malcolm Island, BC in 2018.

Over the past two years, our team has collaborated with local artists in qathet to re-envision the show. We explored what lies beneath the surface of our lives; the stories and emotions submerged below . While this journey leads us to reckonings with grief and loss, there is plenty of light and magic as well. Imagine an ocean goddess with a dress the size of a parachute suspended from the trees, underwater creatures dancing among the ferns,  live music echoing from cedar to fir to hemlock It’s a walk in the woods you’ll never forget!

*Content Warning: the characters in the show are dealing with the loss of a child.
