submerged in qathet

film premiere

Over four summers, a group of professional artists visited five different ocean-bound communities to collaborate on the development and production of a“circus in the forest,” inspired by the theme of “Submerged”.

Local indigenous communities and Knowledge Carriers were integral to the development and production of Submerged. In each community we visited we engaged, dialogued, and collaborated with local First Nations to better understand the land and hear their perspectives on the theme. We were and remain grateful for their blessings to produce a theatrical production on their traditional territories, in the forests of their ancestors.

In 2021 we produced a unique version of Rainforest Circus: Submerged in qathet on Tla’amin territory. On June 3rd, at the Powell River Patricia Theatre, we will be premiering our 30 minute film all about this remarkable collaboration, and celebrating the achievement. Please come on by whether you were a part of the show, witnessed the show, or wished you were there!

PREMIERE: June 3rd, 1:30-3pm, Patricia Theatre, qathet
