little hands
Little Hands is an outdoor creative drop-in for pre-schoolers and home-schooling families with primary age children on Fridays from 10:30 – 12 at the Arts Building in Lower Gibsons.
Little Hands focuses on creative activities that allow both children and parents an opportunity to connect while engaging in an activity. Natural and recycled materials, permission to “get messy” and a warm atmosphere contribute to an experience that honours the investigative nature of children, and gives parents a place to relax.
The years spent at home with small children can be extremely isolating. The pandemic has intensified this for many new families. We are glad to provide opportunities for parents and children to socialize and connect while engaging in creative art activities.

The Arts Building
creativity + connection
This program has evolved through various facilitators of the program. In its early days, Laurel (a local grandmother figure) facilitated Little Hands in the often-empty Arts Building for young children and families. When Sandy, our founder, moved to the Sunshine Coast and her children were young, Little Hands was one of the first places she felt safe and seen and was given permission to bring her artist-self into motherhood. We continue to hold this space for young families and parents in the heart of Lower Gibsons.
